Over the past 3 years I have been designing buildings and infrastructures made to stand the test of time which was fueled by my love to create spacial experiences for people. This is how I discovered the UX realm of designing for people and experience design.

The Architectural Design process
01
Iterations are imperative for architects; rolls of crossed-out wax paper make for one solid design. Iterations are a part of every design phase. This is how I was trained to think, and was expected to come to the studio with 6 iterations of the same idea (and 3 more in my back pocket).
I think a design is never finished, and that's what makes UX brilliant. The ability to constantly change, improve, and iterate in real time. Buildings can be altered with years of lead time. Designing and executing through Figma and coding sound more feasible to me....
Qualitative Interviews and User Empathy
02
Qualitative interviews are the lemon laws of UX design and play; they allow us to always keep the user in mind at all stages of r&d. As an interviewer, I not only seek to understand but also prioritize putting interviewees at ease, creating an approachable environment where they can freely express their insights, even though my friends actually despise how finicky I am. In this context, it's a win for me ;)
At the end of the day, the customer is always right!
Design, Design, Design!
03
As an architect, we build physical spaces. As a UX/UI designer, we build digital spaces. Both with a common denominator of creating spacial experiences for people. Goes as follows: understand your target user and listen to them think.
During my undergraduate studies, "Design, Make, Break, Repeat," was probably one of the textbooks I have read front to back cover. It changed my approach to design, shifting my focus from creating for myself to designing with the user in mind.
No longer guided by personal aesthetics, I learned the importance of empathizing with and designing for the end user, enhancing the quality and relevance of my designs.
